Message from CANASA

Welcome to the website of the Canadian Security Association ! Whether you're a member, a customer, a private or public sector security professional, a student or a journalist, we hope you will find our website interesting and informative. The security industry in Canada has grown phenomenally during the last 20 years, and is going through a time of rapid and dynamic change. Security-physical, electronic, information, private and public - affects the lives of all Canadians.

This is an exciting time for the security industry, with challenges and opportunities. Some of the challenges are new technologies such as VoIP and the complexity of an industry that encompasses physical, information and electronic security and ranges from residential/commercial security systems to biometrics. Today's security customers are sophisticated and demand integrated security solutions. Another challenge is the current regulatory landscape, where provinces are reviewing and refocusing security legislation. CANASA has a vested interest in being at the table when discussions take place to put forward the case for self-regulation.

We have abundant opportunities as an industry to show leadership, professionalism and growth by working together on such strategic priorities as self-regulation, industry research, security education and more. I welcome your input and active engagement in moving these priorities forward.
